March 4th is the grand opening for ECC’s infant/toddler program.

If you think your child is ready for full-time daycare, we want to ensure that families are well-prepared for the transition. We understand that this can be a significant adjustment for both children and parents alike, so we’ve compiled some essential tips to help make the transition smoother for everyone involved:

1. Establish a Routine: Start implementing a consistent daily routine at home that closely mirrors the schedule your child will follow at daycare. This can include regular feeding times, nap schedules, and playtime routines.

2. Gradual Exposure: If possible, gradually expose your child to longer periods of time away from you in preparation for full day care. This could involve leaving them with a trusted family member or caregiver for short intervals to help them become accustomed to being away from you.

3. Familiarize with Caregivers: Take the time to introduce your child to their caregivers at the daycare center before their first day. This can help build familiarity and trust between your child and their new caregivers.
